Finding Time To Succeed

{EAV_BLOG_VER:c9877341a7168105}

For a lot of internet marketers, finding time to build their business is the #1 excuse as to why the aren’t successful. This may be partly true, but not because they can’t find the time. It’s more likely they have it in their head that it is impossible to succeed before they even start. Rather than thinking of every minute they do spend building their business as a step toward reaching their goals.

To be successful online you must be able to manage your time effectively. A common remedy for improving your time management is to develop the ability to  say, NO. If you’re anything like me you find yourself being pulled in opposite directions by several different demands on your time. Sometimes you just have to say NO and stick to it! Create a reasonable plan for your day and follow thru. Determine what you need to accomplish each day and do it.

If it’s write and blog post or surf 200 pages it doesn’t matter. Do that one thing before anything else. Dont check your email or update your facebook status. Get it done and then move on to your secondary tasks. Remember that just because you are busy doesn’t mean you’re getting things done. I’m all for multi tasking but it is very easy to become spread to thin or sidetracked from the task at hand. This is a major stumbling block for a lot of marketers. After a few days of not getting anything done you may become frustrated and lose your motivation to continue. Instead focus on one task each day and build off your small daily achievements.

I find it much easier to build my business if I focus on the positive things that I am doing rather than dwelling on the self imposed reasons why i can’t succeed. Don’t begin you’re day telling yourself “I don’t have the time”. You’ll be much better off if you focus on what you did get done in the time you had.

List Building vs Relationship Building

You probably know me as the owner of SiteXplosion or maybe we met in a chat, at one of the social traffic exchanges.  I know this because, that really has been the focus of my internet marketing efforts. Until now, I have limited myself, because I wanted building SiteXplosion to have my full attention.

Until Now?

Don’t get me wrong. My focus has not changed, but I have decided to add “List Building” to my arsenal of marketing weapons. I say “List Building” because that is the term everyone is familiar with, but I really prefer the term “Relationship Building”. Relationships are the key! Whether you’re a member of SiteXplosion or subscriber to my list doesn’t really matter, if we are connecting and getting to know each other.  That’s what I care about.

There is a social evolution happening, not only in the traffic exchange industry, it’s happening everywhere. Don’t fight it… Embrace it and evolve with it!

Don’t be surprised when you see a squeeze page with my smiling face on it :-)

How To Write Articles That Don’t Look Like An Advertisement

If you want to generate free traffic for your site, writing articles is a great place to start. But they are not supposed to be a blatant advertisement. Your article marketing strategy will be useless if your article will not be accepted by the directories who review what you have been submitting.

To ensure that your articles will be accepted, here are some important things to remember.

1. Proof read your article.

If you want your articles to be accepted quickly and easily, spend the extra time proof reading before you submit them to the article directories. You will waste much more time submitting an article that that does not get accepted.

You should check and review your spelling and grammar more than once. Sometimes it takes a second or third look to find something that you missed at first glance.

It is sometimes best if you know someone who can review it for you. Ask them to look for any grammar or sentence formation that does not seem right. They will be more likely to notice mistakes that you have missed.

When writing articles, you tend to get so familiar with the content you are creating that you become unaware of even obvious mistakes. By having someone less familiar with the content read your article this problem can be eliminated.

2. Write articles that have value.

Look at it from your publishers point of view. Their main priority is finding new, fresh and useful content to put in front of their readers. Trying to include a link to your site in that content is obvious advertising.

This is the quickest way to get your article tossed in the trash, regardless of how valuable and well written your content might be to their readers. We do not want all your time and effort to be for nothing.

What we do want, is to give your readers the opportunity to go to your site to get more information about you and what you are offering. There is a resource box at the end of each article that will serve as your advertisement space.

The resource box may seem small but when used correctly it can be very effective compared to those obviously promoting in their actual article content.

Try to be as brief as possible while still getting your message through. As a rule the resource box should not be more that 10% of the size of your article and should contain no more than two self serving links.

3. Get to the point.

Do not waste time beating around the bush and keep in mind, articles are written to be informational but not boring. Try to be as clear as possible, while keeping it interesting for the reader. You should also take into account the varying knowledge level of the reader.

An article that appears to be boring to you may be exactly what your target audience is looking for. You should develop a style of writing has a smooth flow and is easy to follow. Nothing turns a reader off more than an article that bounces around or is unclear.

Creating a quality article is not hard. Consider your content, your target audience and the publishers and you will be well on your way to becoming a successful article marketer.

SiteXplosion – No Cash Prizes!

NO CASH PRIZES!

I wish that I didn’t have to do this but, starting next week… There will no longer be cash prizes given in our weekly surfing contest.

Rewarding members that enjoy surfing and exchanging traffic with
other members, is the best part of my job. Unfortunately there
have been members that are obviously only interested in winning
the contest and don’t even enter a valid URL into the site rotation.

I apologize, but I cannot let this go on any longer. I believe these
members are only after the cash prizes and therefore have a negative
effect on the overall performance of our network.

- I will honor this weeks contest as I have in the past.

- I will find a way to reward members that continue to support our
traffic exchange network.

- I will continue to make the changes necessary to improve the
performance of the SiteXplosion traffic network.

It is my goal to make SiteXplosion a reliable and effective advertising
solution for everyone.

Please leave a comment with any thoughts, concerns or suggestions.

Thank You,

Shane Bost

How To Be Successful In Article Marketing

Article marketing is a great way to find new clients and potential leads for your business. Whether you are looking for clients who are going to be able to help you grow your business or just for leads to supplement your business, article marketing can be wildly successful.

There are a few things that you are going to need to know about article marketing before you go out and attempt to do it. First of all, you must select keywords and know your niche. This is vitally important because if you do not know your niche, you will not know who you will be selling to. Also, in article marketing, your traffic will only keep coming if they believe what you are saying. You cannot put total junk into your articles and expect your traffic to convert at a decent rate. Selecting your keywords is also important. There are many different keywords that you can use for a niche. These keywords are going to be important for ranking you in the search engines. If you do not try to use good keywords, you are not going to get enough traffic. Try to research your keywords using online keyword tools such as the Google AdWords keyword tool and check for competition as well.

Now that you have selected both your keywords and your niche, you are going to need to write the articles. This is the most important part of article marketing, because your articles are going to be what sells you product or service. Put a decent effort into your articles if you are writing them. If you are not writing them, then you are going to need to instruct your writers on how you want them to be completed. You cannot have them putting any filler into your articles, or you will not be as successful.

Writing your articles might take a little bit of time. That is fine, because the more time that you put into it, the better product you are going to have coming out. However, the most important thing to remember is that you need to keep them real. After you have finished writing your articles, or having them written for you, it is time to promote them. Some people choose to put the articles on their own website. This can work alright, especially if you already have traffic coming to the site. If you do not have any traffic, you might want to consider submitting them to an article directory. There are many different article directories to choose from. While each article directory is different, they basically work on the system of search engine optimization. These sites have been around for years and will allow your articles to rank higher for keywords. They make money by placing your articles in frames with ads. However, people who are interested in your articles can still click through to your site. This is a mutually beneficial agreement that benefits everyone, especially those who are new to article marketing.
